Daniel is a true up-and-coming professional piper who has had notable accomplishments in both the band arena and on the solo competition boards. He has been a consistent prize winner in the ever-improving Alberta piping scene in both the amateur and professional ranks.
Daniel has gained many prizes in the professional solo ranks around Alberta and Saskatchewan and he has also gained prizes in British Columbia and California.
Daniel has been a member of several pipe bands including Ogden Legion Pipe Band, Alberta Caledonia Pipe Band, St. Thomas Alumni Pipe Band and he is currently a member of Rocky Mountain Pipe Band.
In 2019, Daniel traveled to Scotland to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships at the Grade 2 level with St. Thomas Alumni Pipe Band. The band won the morning qualifier event and ended up becoming World Champions later that day.
In 2017, Daniel played with the Rocky Mountain Pipe Band who became the Grade 2 North American Pipe Band Champions.
In 2006 Alberta Caledonia won both events at the North Berwick Highland Games in Scotland and in 2006 and 2007 the band qualified for the Grade 1 final at the World Pipe Band Championships placing 13th and 14th respectively.
Alberta Caledonia Pipe Band was the premier pipe band of the Canadian prairie provinces and the only grade 1 band between Vancouver, British Columbia and Windsor, Ontario. In 2005 Daniel recorded a CD with the band, "Another Round", and he played in five concerts over the years with the band.
Daniel lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife Sydony and his two children.
